Somalia is one of the African country facing a lot within this period. With a devastating effects of famine, desertification and drought ravaging the people as well as the economy on one hand, and on the other hand, the al-Shabab terrorists group attacking villagers and farmers as well as killing innocent citizens on a daily basis.

The al-Shabab terrorists group have been fighting the Somalian government for over a decade now and are still fighting in order to install it's own rule in the country.

Some days ago, the US African Command (AFRICOM) in a joint military operations with the Somalian military and paramilitary groups attacked and killed over 20 al-Shabab insurgents within last week, but today have recorded a different situation with a military base attacked by a suicide bomber, who killed himself and a soldier and in the process injured 6 other officers.

According to Captain Aden Omar, a senior officer in the attacked military base, the suicide bomber disguised himself as one of the soldiers and joined them to file into the military base on Sunday before detonating himself and in the process one of the soldier died instantly, while many others were injured.

Looking at the statement of Captain Omar, one will see a huge sign of negligence within the military, most especially in the attacked base. It's pertinent to note that the military should be vigilant in carrying out their duties on a daily basis, but the reverse is the case. I think senior officers in that base should be blamed for the attack and not any terrorist group. This is because, the military personnel should easily identify a person that's alien to the base.

As we speak, nobody group have made any statement claiming responsibility of the attack, but it's assumed that the al-Shabab terrorists group have done it. This is because of their current attacks on innocent citizens of Somalia. Just last month, the al-Shabab insurgents killed about 20 people in a sieged hotel in Mogadishu.

The Hayat Hotel in Mogadishu, was invaded by the al-Shabab fighters in what resulted into a 30-hours shootout with government forces. The military came into play to end the siege placed on the hotel.

It should be noted that in 2011, the African Union peacekeepers forced the al-Shabab insurgents out of Mogadishu, but since then the insurgents have been trying to lay foothold on the Somalian capital.

The victims of the attack are currently receiving treatment at the Madina Hospital in Mogadishu.

I wonder how people see life. Imagine how someone accepted to commit a suicide bombing just to answer a hero in the face of his maters but the question is what did he gain after losing his own life too at the useless act he did?
