Is Ukraine trying to instigate WW3?

in Informationwar2 years ago

Tuesday night and the threat of WW3 raised it’s ugly head as the Polish president came out to state that his country had been hit by Russian missiles.

Associated Press quoted an anonymous US official saying that two stray Russian missiles had hit Poland.

Images of the site at a farm near the village of Przewodow, located just four miles from the border with Ukraine, shows fragments of an S-300 missile.

S-300 missiles are commonly used by Ukraine to intercept Russian missiles as part of its air defence systems.

Nonetheless the Polish president, Andrzej Duda, implied Russia was behind the attack and threatened to trigger NATO’s Article 4 which would have involved an all member response.

The Western press naturally had a field day. See the headline from the Daily Mirror screaming about bombs hitting Poland.

From a more respected newspaper The Telegraph their headline asserted “Russian missile hits NATO member Poland, leaving two dead”. The paper writes;

Poland's foreign ministry confirmed that the missile was Russian-made, and summoned the Russian ambassador to give "immediate detailed explanations".

According to this piece the President Duda telephoned Biden and Sunak. Despite the press headlines declaring Russian guilt, the wider Western response was lukewarm and sounding a note of caution, “unconfirmed reports”, need for “investigation” and so forth.

Russia naturally denied that they had fired missiles anywhere near this location. They also identified the wreckage in the photos as Ukrainian S-300s.

The latest BBC article on the matter is confusing. Deliberately so in my opinion.

They make the point that both sides use the S-300 system. Indeed the BBC employ no less than four “experts” to all agree that the missile fragments are probably from the S300 system. This entails the bulk of the article.

A security expert, J Andres Gannon, at the US Council on Foreign Relations agrees it is an S-300 but that who fired it remains “unclear”.

The article then tells us that Zelensky has received assurances from his top advisors that it “wasn’t our missile”.

However, they also report that the Polish prime minister has come out to say that it was highly likely the missile was fired by Ukraine. Further, Biden also said it was unlikely to be Russia after US official’s initial findings.

However, for the purposes of this BBC piece the above information comes in the form of two sentences near the end of the article. Yet Biden here in these words has tacitly admitted the Russians didn’t do this.

Biden said the trajectory of the missile suggested it was not fired from Russia

The article concludes that both use these systems but it has been Russia firing near by targeting local infrastructure. Key infrastructure like grain silos I guess. They also write;

there has been speculation that Russia may have been targeting sites in Ukraine close to this stretch of the Polish border.

Yet, the same article shows range of the S-300 which is up to 90kms.

Then produces a map showing that Russian controlled territory is beyond this 90 km radius.

So giving the entire piece such a Ukrainian bias I think it might be hard for the average reader to tease out that Russian had nothing to do with this "unfortunate incident". Sorry but looks like plans to ratchet the war up further seems to have failed this week.

The press to one side, the Polish leader has been forced into making a retraction that Russia had fired on them. He had to admit that it was a “tragic accident” that led to a Ukrainian air defence missile landing in Poland.

The narrative version as presented by Associated Press is that Ukraine was firing on incoming Russian missiles which ended up hitting a spot in Poland.

Patrick Ryder, Pentagon spokesman, said that every inch of NATO territory will be defended

Of course we should always ask ourselves Who Benefits?

Now, who can you think of would benefit from having Article 5 invoked which would involve all member states of NATO to bring their military might to protect a fellow member country like Poland.

The answer is Ukraine.

Following the “incident” Zelelnsky wasted no time in declaring Russia to blame and calling it a Russian missile strike on collective security and demanding action. Not to be outdone the Deputy PM of Latvia issued his condolences to his Polish brothers declaring Russia criminal and their willingness to stand by their Polish friends.

Unsurprisingly anyone who believes that it was a Ukrainian air defence missile is a Russian conspiracy theorist who is simply spreading Russian propaganda! Further, state Ukrainian officials, the missile strike by Russia was a deliberately planned hello and was the result of not punishing evil (presumably Putin) and appeasement.

I’m thinking is this a candidate for fake news story of the year?

Whilst another bill is going through Congress for more funds for Ukraine, we have to ask is the pot endless? From Pentagon chief Lloyd Austen we had this;

...on Tuesday we saw reports of a fatal explosion in Poland, close to its border with Ukraine ...

Now following this new arm sales to Ukraine have been agreed, (information source Intel Slava Z Telegram page).

  • Sweden - a $287 million aid package, which includes air defense systems;

  • Spain - two Hawk launchers and missiles for them;

  • Canada — $500 million and winter equipment;

  • Germany - anti-aircraft weapons, artillery and ammunition for the M270 MLRS;

  • Greece - 155-mm artillery shells;

  • Poland - artillery and anti-tank weapons, short-range air defense systems.

It’s also a generally unreported fact that there has been increasing numbers of demonstrations against the war in Europe.

We are facing a winter of discontent and the money and weaponry required by Ukraine to keep going is growing enormously. Ukraine is desperately banging on the door of NATO. It needs the help or it will sink without it.

Reason enough to conduct a false flag?

Even among the G20 countries there are disagreements about the continued backing for war and the voices for a negotiated peace have increased.

Embarrassingly for the West, Zelensky has continued to push the narrative that Russia bombed Poland. Of course the official position is that Russia is to blame for everything.

'NO DOUBT' Zelensky insists missile that hit Poland WAS Russian – despite NATO & US saying it was a Ukrainian air-defence misfire

So does that also include when the Ukrainian air defence system shot down a Romanian Mig-21 fighter. Or a Romanian helicopter. Does it include when the Estonian carrier Helt was blown up, how about when a Ukrainian UAV "Swift" attacked Zagreb. How about when a Turkish boat or a Romanian minesweeper was blown up. What about when on March 13 a Ukrainian Volkssturm shot down the car of an American journalist.

Whilst the US is willing to fight to the last Ukrainian, they certainly don’t want to get their own boots muddied. There are certainly some numbers(possibly thousands) on the ground unofficially (trainers and advisors etc), but an all out conflict with Russia is a different kettle of fish entirely.

Once again any talk of a no-fly zone has been shot down!

Well I have to admit, this is better-written than your usual Krem-lines.

However, it is cute how you base your "don't believe what you see and hear in the media" tirade off of the assumption that the image of an S-300 missile (from the media you say not to trust) is accurate.

Anyone who criticizes the attempt of of the Kiev regime to provoke WW3 is automatically a Kremlin apologist, how childish and ridiculous.

Yes indeed in the days of information war the image I used could well turn out to be fake - and if that is so that is something I will take on board.

According to the Ukrainian foreign minister, anyone who thinks it was a Ukrainian missile that struck Poland is a "conspiracy theorist". Don't ask questions, just blame the enemy no matter what the facts may be.
Maybe instead of immediately calling for WW3, the west should wait a few hours/days for a proper investigation. Those types of comments from officials are completely reckless.

Thanks for your addition. Today I read that the Polish world cup football team flew into Qatar guarded by fighter jets. You can't make this stuff up can you?

@v4vapid Season Greetings 🎈🎉🎊 from my family to you. Have a wonderful Christmas ❣️💕 Season and prosperous New Year in advance as well.
