RE: Israel practices medical apartheid and CNN says we will follow

I cannot say I am surprised, but I am appalled. I was born free, in a free country of free people, and I will die free, no matter what others do.

Last year I had occasion to visit an ER late in the evening. There was an open bed, so I didn't have to wait for it, and I got ushered in right away. I lay there for an hour, though, while they dealt with another patient, who was quite ill. I overheard the ER doc talking to the nurses about the patient, who they wanted to test for Covid, but who did not want to be tested. The doctor wanted to strap them to the bed, and test them.

At this, I decided it was time for a smoke, and since I wasn't strapped to the bed - yet - I hopped up, walked to the exit and informed a nurse I was going to take a walk. She let me know that wasn't recommended, and I thanked her and left. I didn't care much about the pain that had brought me to the ER originally, in fact it seemed to have quite subsided, while I bet my blood pressure had risen substantially.

It was 230 am and I was afoot 25 miles from home, so I started walking at a brisk pace. I got a ride after about 9 miles, and was home by ~5am, just in time for a nap.

I won't go back to the ER unless I'm dying, and then only to die. If I have hope I'll live, I'll tough it out. I'm not going to hospital for tests, scans, or meetings. I'm never, ever going to be strapped to a bed and forcibly subjected to medical interventions against my will.

I should strike up friendship with the local vet, I suppose.

It's a crying shame to see America sunk to this level. I am really ashamed of our medical system that has become a more oppressive social system than prisons. I do not say this lightly or in jest. Prisons can force feed you, but they are far more likely to withhold medical treatment you need than to force it on you, because they haven't got much of a medical care facility. Being locked in a room and fed shitty meals is very bad. Being strapped to a bed and genetically altered while you watch is a whole 'nuther level of bad.

Thanks!

Good Gosh! Phew!

@valued-customer I wish more people were wise enough to walk out when the opportunity arises, better yet avoid hospitals at all costs. Worst case scenario: If you have family around, it would be better to die in the comfort of your home with loved ones, then to be isolated and alone, strapped to a bed with a vent or whatever else plugged into you and become a convenient statistic to further their evil agenda. No thanks.
