I'm not going to pretend like I know exactly what the fuck is going on right now. I do know, I've seen several interesting names being thrown into the 'fire'. @themarkymark, @neoxian, @lordbutterfly, @acidyo, @stickupboys, @hurtlocker and even @blocktrades and @ecoinstant.
These all have fingers pointed by what is either an impressively deceptive hack or somebody that has just gone totally bonkers. I understand a few of them, have outstanding loan balances with the party(ies) in maddening question, that being @raymondspeaks and the @brofi accounts primarily. I even read that one was borrowed to pay another.
WHAT IS GOING ON??
I noticed something very off a few weeks ago when I tried to post in that 'flame' community and was instantly muted. It didn't make sense since Ray said I was already a part of it, so I went to the server on Discord and plead my case. I did not like the answer(s) I got and to avoid any unnecessary conflict and keep things civil, I dowsed my confused anger and left the server.
Now virtually everyone has been kicked and the tokens that were attached to the projects that community operated - mainly BRO, LGN and GIFU, have tanked to almost zero. It's a good thing the PIMP District dropped them at the beginning of summer (stateside) and moved into other things. Well, the BRO and GIFU anyway, we still retain some LGN but, I don't think we will much longer.
Weird how things work out sometimes.
So NOW What??
With several tokens that have been passive earners for years now, all of the sudden taking massive falls, it would seem a pivot is a wise move for people. SIM holders are on their way out. I wouldn't trust that BXT is going to be around much longer with their intermittent payments. Don't get me wrong, I love BeeSwap, but @gerber is just not vested anymore and doesn't really care. INCOME bought back earlier this year and closed out and who knows what happened with INDEX and UTOPIS.
With all that in mind, let me tell you what I'm doing. And let it be loudly known, THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. It's just what I'm doing. You can do it too, or do whatever you feel is best for you and your wallet. Maybe you trust in EDSI or DABS or SURGE? I don't, I flip those occasionally. Made a 20% profit on the SURGE token the first week. Besides the point.
The point is, I am going to share with you my three favorite tokens (not including #HIVE or #HBD) moving into 2026 (holy shit, did I just write 2026???) and why I think they are very healthy to hang on to. And of course, why. It might seem biased, but maybe you'll see past my personal interest and note the value they hold.
#1 - PIMP
With an average of ten posts per hour carrying the tag, it has slowly grown into what is becoming an unstoppable beast. In February of next year (2026), the token will be 5 years old. Because of the name, it was not embraced but you know what? I didn't care. It represented a part of me and so I stuck with it and will continue to. Some notable facts about the token:
- it is the only one on Hive with a vaultkeeper holding physical #silver backing the token
- it also retains a custodian that holds coffers of #bitcoin to back the token
- the PIMPs recently reappropriated funds and opted to create a #BNB holding to further strengthen its validity and staying power
- PIMPs are the curators for the main account associated with it which is attached to our tipping bot functions
- delegators to the primary curation account do so of their own volition and get no extra reward from it
- the tipping mechanism is funneled to a single post comment thread to minimize 'spam', but still foster the slapping we've come to love so much
- the top 200 staked balances share daily rewards in liquid HIVE (currently about 125 accounts that are fully eligible)
- it just feels good to be a mother fucking PIMP
- we are truly community oriented in our pursuits and have meetings every week to discuss business and pleasure
#2 - AEGIS
I wrote a post recently about something else I decided to start. AEGIS is a brand new token which is purely centralized by its master overlord - ME. There is no community with it, no discord server, no tribe, no staking, none of that. It is issued by me and controlled by me. Me, me, me! Bwahahahaa!
What makes this token special, is it is designed purely as an investment token. I have set up an initial 5 year liquidity pool that the token(s) should be entered into. The goal is to reward people that way, with various other tokens - SWAP.HIVE heavily included - for participating in my venture. The rewards continue to increase over time as there is a bonus and I periodically juice the pool with more tokens.
#3 - DUO
I have a lot of faith in this token as I know the people behind it and was even honored by being asked to help guide them in its creation. So much in fact, that in the last reappropriation for the PIMP District, we bought a little chunk and are happy with the restructuring.
DUO itself, is a tipping token from the Hive Onboard Committee. Their goal is to help to get people to Hive through various channels and teach them once they get here. Retention is a major problem around here so I got mad respect for that. Add that to some daily dividends in liquid HIVE for staking their token, and, well, it's just a win win!
Honorable Mentions
There are two that I have growing interest in and will be pursuing a little more. One is the GAMER token that @themarkymark has kept going strong since the legacy chain days. It represents the Krypto Gamers site and you can collect divs on that when you have enough in your wallet to cash out from staking the GAMER token.
The other is CAV that is representative of the #veterans community here on Hive. I am partial as I do a lot of the heavy lifting in its operations, but we do assist any veterans when we can with profits from the token. It also pays a small daily dividend in liquid HIVE that has seen some growth recently.
So there ya go. If you managed to come out of the brofi network without getting too burned and have something to spare and aren't sure where you should put it, you do have options. I've always been keen on Ray as a family guy, so the whole shit strikes me in a painful way outside of any finance arena. Hope you ok my dude.
