Our eyes serves as a camera that helps us capture the activities of the day. As we move around our daily activities alot goes on and sometimes we may not really take note of every details.
Dreams I believe comes from the multiple activities that took place in the day time. We seem to forget some of them but the truth is that it has been stored in our memories and can easily come up in the night to replay again when we have gone to rest from all the works of the day. This has happened to me most times and I believe that some other persons have experienced it too because is a common thing that people experience every time.

Another reason why I believe that people see dreams is because they need to see into the future. Just like Joseph in the Bible who saw a dream of how he will be great in the future. The dream came back more than twice. That was an indication that he will be great in the future. And when we look at the life of Joseph even while he was in Egypt, we know that the dream meant that he will be great in life. So, I believe that some may also see dreams for different reasons, but I know very well of these two reasons and this is the most common reasons why people see dreams.
I was once a dreamer. A day hardly pass by then and I don't see something in my dreams that is pointing to the future for me. Today I have walked into things in my life that I saw back then in my dreams. And when those dreams came I know that it was pointing to my future. When I later saw it in the future I know that this is the fulfilment of that same dream of the past.

I think I also shaded on the part where dreams are as a result of what we do during the day, it sometimes recap and forms our dreams and I think the Joseph experience is also a good example, thanks for sharing this with us.

Joseph dream was written as a forecast, and that's how he got a high reputation with the Egypt pharaoh. But my belief is that he was a very intelligent man and maybe this dream wasn't a real dream like we are used to. Maybe he was a very good observer of the reality, many prophets were like that. People that were rational in the middle of blind people that just preferred to not see the real truth.
