I hit the year running with very high expectations. The Happy New Year heralded me into the year 2025. Though I will say that my set goals aren’t fully met. But trust me, it is not yet over until it is over.
I started the year with a lot of assignments and quizzes here and there for my MBA programme, but I am grateful that I made it against all odds. I started with 26 colleagues, but about 8 of us made it to the finals at the prestigious Liverpool John Moores University. I am super grateful for this achievement.
Again, I am grateful for the reunion that was made possible through my visit to my elder sister's house in the eastern part of my country. It's been over 5 years since we last saw each other. I used my annual leave vacation to visit her. It was a great time. I am happy that her life was also spared after a serious health challenge while I was there.
Furthermore, as a family, we have witnessed growth and development here and there, attaining new milestones in our family business, obtaining new certificates in my personal career development, and lending a helping hand to immediate and extended family and local church needs.
Every milestone achieved is worth celebrating. Sometimes, I kneel beside my bed to say a thanksgiving prayer. Other times, I shout and scream and even reach out to my siblings. We will shout, shed tears of joy, and sometimes we go for a Sunday outing.

Each year, we have an in-house family get-together, where we sing and show gratitude to God for his benevolence with a few invited friends or family. Again, we do give away through the welfare support team in our local church as a sign of gratitude and appreciation to God for his mercies. I do not think this year will be an exception. It is our family culture.
I do not go to the mirror when I’m celebrating my wins; I go to the mirror when I need to encourage or advise myself.
Taking a deep reflection on how far my journey has been from January 2025 to date. I will say that I live one day at a time, embracing the challenges, celebrating my little wins, and leveraging the lessons I have learnt from my failures to chart a way forward until my joy is complete.
