GOOD AND BAD EVENTS IN 2025 For this prompt, we invite you to share with us the best thing that happened to you this year. Also, share with us the worst thing that happened this year. Did you accomplish everything in your new year resolution list? What helped you to achieve your new year resolution? What hindered you from achieving your new year resolution?
Every day is a journey. A dive into the horizon. Known and unknown terrains. Sometimes we win, sometimes we fail, sometimes we quietly learn our lessons, and other times we tearfully learn our lessons. But in all, we improve and become a better version of ourselves.
My big win for the year 2025 was completing my MBA at the prestigious Liverpool John Moores University.
This journey began in August 2022, with the intention to complete the programme within a year, as offered by my student affairs department. But, as the programme progressed, I was informed that I would not be able to merge my courses, which means running two courses for the module period. I was allowed to run only one course at a time. This did not sit well with me, but when I considered that I was also engaged in full-time employment from 8 am to 5 pm, I held my peace.
This journey was filled with late-night reading, hours of online discussion class, weekly quizzes, and steady assignments. At some point, I nearly gave up because the stress of combining work, family and schooling was too much. Meeting with the assignment submission timeline is another bruhaha.
However, I made it through it all. I graduated in March 2025, which also happened to be my birth month. To me, it was a double honour. My transcript and other documents have been well-received. It was not easy, but with steady morning affirmations, encouragement from my family and friends, and assistance of my small MP3 Bluetooth, which served as my storage centre for my courses, which I replayed consistently during my idle time, the journey was worth the stress. Alas! I triumphed and achieved my set goal

On the other hand, my worst experience this year is sleeping overnight on a bus while travelling to the East. This was just a penny-wise pound-foolish case scenario.
I got an emergency call about my elder sister's health, and after the necessary preparations. We concluded within our family circle that I go through the road to save some funds to share with the family I am visiting. The bus I boarded wasted a lot of time, which led to my sleeping on the bus. It was a bitter and regrettable day which will forever remain green in my memory.
In conclusion, the year is still very green. While I would say that I have achieved the big one, which is completing my MBA, I still have other goals that I am pursuing. Some professional certifications, training and family set goals. All of these are in top gear. Every plan to achieve them is in place, and I look forward to accomplishing them. It is never too late because time and chance happeneth to all things.
Thank you for reading. I would like to keep a date with you in my next post.

Winning and losing is not guaranteed but we have to hustle for our good and have the winning side.
Exactly, I agree completely with that thought.
We need to always hustle 💯 💪 🙏
Oh!! This is beautiful to read. Congratulations on completing your MBA. It's a great privilege you should always be thankful for. I hope your sister is doing fine now,it's not your fault that you slept off in a bus, when our body calls for rest,we can resist it.
Thank you very much for the kind words.
I am happy I was able to achieve that feat.
Oh, that experience of sleeping in that bus was bad. I trust I won't have that kinda of experience again.

Do morning affirmations work? I see people use them a lot but still find it hard to believe that just saying positive things to yourself can actually turn things around.
Humm, what we believe in works for us. I believe and practice morning affirmations and it's just like encouraging and supporting yourself rather waiting for someone else to tell you that you are good, beautiful, you can make it blablabla.
When you repeatedly do it, it kinda of steams your motivation, builds your self esteem and so on.
Not that one will just sit down and lazily do affirmations, that one will not cross the ceiling. You put in daily efforts and do your affirmations with respect to those set goals and gradually, things will work out based on your efforts and ability to practice what you preach.
@offia66 no let me turn into a preacher here ...lolz 😤 😒
Lol 😂
I think you have said it all, you still need to put in the work.
Thanks for sharing.
