The Imperfection Of Science And The Beauty Of Knowing Myself

There is a saying that "Humans were made in twos" which at times is really hard to believe, you might be somewhere and a friend will just tell you. For this prompt, we invite you to tell us, what would you do with such opportunity, would you actually agree and create a clones, what will you do with the clone, will you let it carry your burdens, work and make money for you, will it be your best buddy, trust them with your family or keep them far away from you. We want to know the unimaginable things or tasks you will use your clone for

A proverb that says “Humans were made in twos” has been a thing of a mirage and sarcasm for me. Especially in the face of cloning by scientists. In a similar vein, there have been some stories of how someone died and is found to be existing in another location. Eventually, the person immediately being tracked disappeared into thin air.

In the actual sense, humans were meant to cohabit; little wonder we have two eyes, two hands, two legs to support and complement each other, indicating that none can function in isolation.

Growing up, I was always told that I resembled the Chinese. At some point, some of our neighbours were calling me China. So, I do feel excited and happy when I am told that my replica is somewhere in the town or within the neighbourhood. In my weird moments, I would request that they take me to meet the person.

But in this aspect, we are talking about cloning, meaning that the person is my double, and it's meant to share my life with me. Though it sounds fascinating, I have issues with that kind of arrangement. Remember, there were various claims on the internet where it was alleged that robots on different occasions around European countries malfunctioned and started beating up people. It ended up leaving a lot of patients and staff wounded to various degrees.

Imagine a scientist walked up to you just to tell you they have all the equipment available for you to clone yourself, make someone who looks exactly like you, think the way you think and even share your moods or feel what you feel.

Now, on this occasion, the cloned person is supposed to shadow me in all things, behaving and reacting the same way I do. What if the cloned replica goes awry one day and wreaks havoc? Remember, someone needs to control the cloned person. What if something goes wrong, and in that moment, all hell is let loose? What happens to dear me? Will I be able to surmount the challenge? Will I be able to conquer the beast?

Outside the above questions, we are created in our own unique nature such that none can be identical, without differences when critically observed. In that sense, if science is allowed to close that gap in nature, that means that the aim of the unique nature of the human race is defeated.

Secondly, though there are advantages and disadvantages to this adventure. Advantages may include enjoying a double me who can assist me in achieving my daily goals, as well as being a good companion. But scientists are still evolving. We still have plane crashes, electricity failures, Ship sinking and other major challenges with things supposedly made by scientists to be enjoyed by the human race.

So, for me, I would rather exist as a unique me and will not agree to my twos through scientific cloning.

Thank you for reading.

I would love to keep a date with you

My uniqueness matter oo...cloning feels like trading our uniqueness for convenience, and the risks outweigh the benefits

Exactly 💯 💯

I concur with you.

What sense will it make if my second me starts fermenting troubles that is beyond my control.
Abeg, cloning should remain there. My unique identity matters to me .

Thank you for stopping by.

Having a clone will require you to ensure that your clone is law abiding and is acting right.

Seriously, that will also be an additional task to me .
Of what use will it now be when the clone is supposed to assist me reduce my burden rather it is now adding more burden to me.

You do have that chinese face from the picture I see. the thing with tech is that it can never be perfect, but one thing is for sure, if that tech should come to life, it will evolve overtime

Thats right ✅️
Different strokes for different folks.

Tech has so many benefits but you see this on eheee.

I don't know how my double will rough it with me
Lol 😆 🤣
