WHY SOME PEOPLE LOOK RICH BUT ARE STILL STRUGGLING
Hello #sciFimultiverse, I trust you are doing great. Welcome to my blog.

Today, life on social media seems to be a made-up one. People do a lot to look flashy, rich, and more successful than in real life. Some have become overnight wannabe individuals to belong. Some do this to chase clout; others claim it is for content creation.
My mum once told me a story about a lady who rejected good suitors who were coming for her hand in marriage in search of a wealthy suitor. One day, a very wealthy man came with luxuries; immediately, she accepted him and demanded that her parents rush the marriage to avoid losing out, not knowing that the man was a ghost.
After the flamboyant marriage, it was time to go home. The man demanded that nobody go home with them except the two of them. The family escorted them and bid them farewell. The journey began.
They passed seven rivers, seven seas, and each time, the man entered somewhere to return the things he borrowed for the marriage. He returned everything, including one of his eyes, leg, hand, ear, and other parts of his body.
At that point, the lady started crying that she was no longer interested in the marriage anymore, but it was too late. The rest is history.
A lot of people showcase a luxurious life on social media, while realistically, they are struggling. They live on borrowed cars, funds, data, airtime, recycling loans from bank to bank. Some manipulate pictures using AI and post about vacations and lavish lifestyles they cannot afford here and there, pressurising weak minds.
For me, being financially comfortable means living a life that is in tandem with my earnings and consistently saving little here and there.
However, there is nothing wrong with living large if only the individual is not stressing themselves to maintain a life they cannot afford, thereby mortgaging their future.
As is popularly said, people’s appearances do not tell the whole story, so I believe people should look beyond presenting a wealthy image to impress society and live in their truth while securing their future.

Exactly people's appearance doesn't tell tell the whole story
You are correct. It can only depict their face value while their characters expose their real person 😤

I also have seen people who flaunt wealth online but in real life they are not like that
Hmmm, they are plenty, I think it's becoming a way of life for many people here. A celebrity recently called out a certain US pastor claiming that they're living fake life and that the pastor is not helping the members as he also teaches them to flaunt fake wealth online.
Thank you for stopping by.

This is one story I was also told back then when I was still a child. But it is a very big lessons to alot of people today because there is no gain in living a life I know I can't afford, but because of people I will continue.
My sis, you are correct, I think we all can relate with thos story from our mothers. It is a story that we were told to guide us in making good life decision. Life always remind me of this strory when I'm about to make life decisions.

I'd venture to guess that this kind of maladaptive thinking comes from a serious lack of attention in the formative years perhaps kids that seldom see their busy parents, raised more by hired sitters, daycare and or after school programs. Social platforms like Facebook, Tik Tok, I.G. simply nurture that behavior.

You are correct 👏 👌. It is still existing. I have met with a teen who bluntly told me that if wealthy spouses did not come her way she would rather remain single because she doesn't want to experience hardship in her life.
Such teen if not properly followed up will end up frustrated in life because of her mentality and view about life.
