The year 2025 went off with a blast and not the good kind. I was literally going through one of the roughest patches in my entire life (2017 being the exception) and it seemed like nothing was going my way until I got in touch with a close friend who told me about the blockchain and it was at that moment things started to take a positive turn for my betterment. My first official journey into the web 3 universe further opened doors I never thought possible, it was as if chain reaction was unraveling in my story. I finally got a raise at my job, my side hustle was seriously serving it's purpose and I was engaged in a few investments here and there. Things were finally looking up and by April I was already certain that this year was going to be filled out with lots of smiles. However regardless of every good thing that transpired within this year, my happiest moment was not directly linked to my own personal accomplishments, that would have to be the day my first student graduated from school.
On the 14th of August, my protege video called with smiles on her face to tell me that she was now officially a graduate. Even though I could not be there with her personally to celebrate this good news I was still over joyed as the journey was definitely not an easy one . I remember the scared little girl I met four years ago who was so confused about what she wanted and always ended up screwing things up regardless of her intentions. She was shy, could not speak in public and was struggling to get a reading schedule in order. Regardless of all of her shortcomings, she was super smart but was overwhelmed by fear and a serious lack of concentration. To address this problems, I decided to make her my student, reading partner and protege. She has access to me whenever she has problems with her academics, she was free to call or come over whenever she felt like she needed assistance despite being in different faculties.
In just this year alone, that girl who was known for giving out empty responses became a department sensation who not only headed a group for a presentation but also gave amazing points worthy of the only A in the entire gathering. During her internship, she worked at travel agency in Makurdi where because of her competence was given the position of a full time staff with pay and when it was time to defend her training, she owned it like a boss.
If you are reading this @icelover, I want you to know that your academic journey from when we met down to the say you became a graduate is my most happiest moment for 2025. I am proud you kept your promise of making good grades and despite challenges you were still able to overcome... My favourite student, keep soaring because great things lay ahead. Thank you for making me proud, YOU ARE THE BEST.
