Being a teenager Who was still in secondary school as of then , my only online social media experience were mostly facebook, whatsapp,Youtube , and the Tiktok. As someone that really loved reading, playing word games , and exercising, these social media most especially youtube was like a second home for me. So it is a pleasure to share my web3 experience with you guys.
Just like i said in the introductory part ,I did not know anything about Web 3. I only knew about social media like Facebook and WhatsApp. But one day, I heard my elder brother talking about crypto blogging similar to the ones i have been seeing but with the only difference that i can earn tokens for writting engaging content.
He said, “Uju, you love reading and writing. Why not try Hive, a cryptocurrency plartform, yes ,that was my first experince? You can write what you like and get some tokens for it.”
At first, I thought it was too hard for someone my age. I said to myself, “How can a small girl like me join something called Web 3?” But because I love trying new things, I decided to create an account. And here am i , making the most out of it with the hope of exploring the community.
From there, I started learning slowly about what Web 3 means. I found out that it is not just about blogging. There are other parts like crypto trading, NFTs, and DeFi. Honestly, I don’t fully understand all these yet, but I am happy to take it step by step.
One thing that made me doubt Web 3 at first was hearing adults say, “Crypto is a scam. Don’t waste your time.” Also, some fake people messaged me pretending to help, but they only wanted to take my tokens. Because of this, I became very careful. I told myself to always ask my brother before I click on any link.
What made me stay was the friendly community. Many people on Hive are very kind and helpful. They read my intro post posts and were polite enough to guide me through the plartform and give me some word of encouragement. I have learned new words and ideas from other bloggers in this community and other community. It feels like an open classroom for me.
Right now, my Web 3 journey is still fresh and small. I only focus on Hive for now because I enjoy writing book reviews, fitness tips, and sometimes, funny scrabble stories. Maybe in the future, I will try NFTs or crypto trading when I am more mature and ready.
One lesson I want to share is: start small and don’t rush. Listen to people who know more than you. If you are a teenager like me, ask your parents or older ones for help.
Web 3 is big, but you can find your little corner in it.
For me, my favorite part is crypto blogging because I can read and write freely, just like playing scrabble ,forming words and building connections.

You were privileged to have started this journey at a younger age unlike us who hardly had that opportunity.
