Dreams on Record

in SciFi Multiverse2 days ago (edited)

Dreams are somewhat considered an extension of our minds at work when the body shuts down to sleep. It could be a long deep sleep or just a nap, and you could end up having a dream. A friend of mine posted something a few days back about dreams. He considered that our dreams or the dreamworld could be a peek into our afterlife. He considered that we have a hint of the afterlife through our dreams. Well, his personal consideration he said.

Nevertheless, dreams leave us with much to consider. Like, why do we dream? Could there be a spiritual communication or is it just something to do with our nervous system action? Could it be a continuation of the day's activities or the things before we sleep? And most of all, why do we seem to hardly remember some dreams even when we just woke up?

The last question has been a major recurring one. Even with a nap, we could end up forgetting what we just dreamt about. I've had several experiences and sometimes, I try to gather pieces of my dreams to get a hint. Other times, I recall well the events of the dream as if I were watching a movie. So, what could be done to ensure I have a vivid picture of my dreams, since they are part of me?

Okay, say there was a way we could record our dreams, that would address the issue right? I bet so. Honestly, I'd like to remember my dreams, even if some are bad and others good. Besides, I like horror movies, so perhaps it shouldn't be a problem when I watch the records and see myself running, terrified. Haha.

Obviously, it would help me reflect on my dreams; crucial ones or crucial moments of my dreams. This would aid my remembrance of events within the dream. Dreams can be gathered as memories in a way. There are things we see in our dreams that we don't have a clear picture of but would like to have as a memory, which makes recording them just handy.

However, I think it would look weird watching my dream. This is like watching a movie clip and I've not been one who's interested in acting. I do the watching but not the acting, except a few times I did that back then in life. Now, say I get to watch myself recorded in what seems like acting, well, it could look weird to me.

While it sounds interesting to record my dreams, have a memory of them, and other possible benefits, I think there's a layer to it. One that could leave the events of my dreams out and open with the possibility of being consumed by others. Maybe those I wouldn't even want to. Anybody who could set their hands on the records would have access to my dreams which I think should be personal in a way.

Privacy could make me consider the idea of recording my dreams. Yes, I did say I don't have issues with watching horror movies, so uncomfortable dreams shouldn't be an issue right? However, some of these dreams wouldn't be things one would like to watch again and again considering it could feel like a live event. What if it makes sleeping difficult?

So, perhaps, I wouldn't want to be in such a world despite the good sides of recording our dreams. What if not remembering some dreams was a way to shield my mind?

Thank you for reading through!

Hmmm extension of the mind, nice choice on not wanting to be there, thanks for sharing 👍

Yeah. Thanks for reading.

Well, I didn't think about the privacy part of it. I mean there are lot of things we dream about and having third party have access to the recording will definitely make us feel uncomfortable.

Yes, that's it.
Thank you.

I think there are dreams we'd rather not remember because they were painful or because of some other kind of situation.

Yes, that's true. And it would be hard to watch those again and again.
Thank you.
