Sending Thoughts.

Sometimes I just sit and analyze how tough communication must have been in the pre-modern age. I watch movies and see them sending messages through a raven or some bird, and honestly, I can’t bring myself to live that life. Letters are cool and all, but only if you get a reply in minutes, or at most a few hours. I mean, that’s the whole point of communication, right? Getting a reaction… and quick too.

Okay, let’s say I’m at school and I run out of supplies. Now I have to write a letter home requesting food. So I have to wait for like a month before I get a reply? Oh boy, I may have joined my ancestors by then. Honestly, medieval-age communication, especially when distance is a barrier, is so hectic.

Thanks to science, we are released from all that struggle. It’s one of the most beautiful things, being able to talk to someone in another part of the world and get a reply in seconds. You can even see the person if you want, thanks to Facetime and video calls. Everything has been simplified. You don’t have to sweat to communicate with someone far away. And no one has to go looking for a raven to deliver messages to loved ones.

While I’m happy and satisfied living in an era where things have been made easy, this prompt takes me on another fantasy ride. TELEPATHY. Let’s forget how fancy it sounds and focus on what it could actually mean for communication. No phones. No devices. Just direct connection to the receiver’s mind, and communication happens.

I feel like it would be so lit talking to someone without actually talking. Telepathy would be super convenient in situations where speaking is not expected. Maybe in meetings, where you need to let the person across the table know what you’re thinking. You could both do your thing without anyone noticing. For someone like me, who likes being quiet most of the time, it would be a huge bonus.

I even have this fake telepathy with my sister sometimes. She can be in her room, I can be in mine, and we send each other the exact same funny video or meme we saw online. Or we say the exact same sentences at the same time. It’s kind of cool, knowing someone is thinking exactly what you’re thinking at that moment. And the moment when we’re in the same space and look at each other and burst into laughter without saying a word? Golden.

But as we know, every good thing comes with a downside too. If telepathy replaced devices entirely, I wouldn’t be such a fan. There’s still a need to see people far away on video calls. Not everything should be just sending thoughts. Companies would still need to hold video conferences for workers, where someone speaks after another, controlling the flow of opinions. If everyone was sending thoughts at the same time, it could be chaotic.

Also, for overthinkers who always have something going on in their minds, telepathy could be hard. Imagine thinking someone’s dress is the worst and accidentally sending that thought across to the wrong person. Problem.

Honestly, I’m not that excited about it. The concept is cool for situations where you have to be discreet or not talk at all, but I’m fine with things the way they are. I like being in control of my thoughts and not risking letting someone know what I’m thinking by accident. I’ll stick to using my devices, so that when I decide to speak, it’ll be something I’ve thought over properly, not just the first thing that pops into my head.

Beautiful piece ❤️❤️❤️.

I especially love and can relate with that part with your sister, it's fun.

Thanks for pointing out it's risks too, as being able to control our thoughts is very important.

Thanks for sharing.
❤️💯❤️

Yeah.
Thank you for reading Mars🥰🥰

Nice write-up. About you and your sister I can relate because it sometimes happen with me and my brother. And yes I'm not also agreeing with the telepathy because it will make people less talking and make people to be lazy.

I just think it's going to be boring. Let's remain the way we are

Before technology and evolvement of man, communication was really terrible..

Honestly it will be really lit just the way you said talking to someone without the use of phone or devices, mind to mind
