Eating Right, Living Right: My Path to a Healthier Lifestyle

Glory, you are adding weight and looking healthy, what is the secret? This is one comment I get lately, to think that I thought I would never be one to get such a compliment because of my kind of lifestyle, and also knowing myself to be on the slim side for most of my life is indeed a new and welcoming change.

The truth is that there isn't any major secret than just paying attention to my overall health and feeding habits, not that I didn't eat before but I got used to skipping meals most times due to the nature of my job, and sometimes when I finish cooking for the family, I get too exhausted to want to eat a proper meal and just go for snacks, not knowing that getting used to this lifestyle would put a toll on my body mass index, I weighed less for my age, I never minded though, not until a doctor friend advised that I take my general health and lifestyle serious, including eating right to add the right amount of weight as I just clocked 30 and wasn't getting any younger, I discovered that I was deficient of some major nutrients the body needs, even though I wasn't ill, I had a serious issue of back pain which I always attributed to my kind of job, not knowing that eating right was another way the body replenished those lost nutrients.

My Feeding Habit

I no longer skip breakfast every day as I used to, and I take my breakfast important and don't just indulge in junk but healthy and nutritious meals, such as oatmeal, peanuts, bread, pap and beancake, etc

You know how the economic situation of the country can make one just eat anyhow and not proper balanced diet because we are trying to cut cost, this is also a major problem, but I realize, sometimes it's just about knowing the right combination of food and sometimes buying foodstuffs in bulk helps saves cost, so we have the other days to save for other important things the family need, instead of going on hunger strike on days we need to get some major bills sorted.

I am not one to eat much except it is a favorite meal, so being intentional about eating small meals more times a day than just once and leaving it, helped me too, it's not just about the quantity of food, as the quality also matters to be, I have a super taste bud that anything less than a delicious meal often gets tiring, and having children that eat with their eyes first before indulging also made me research online ways to spice up meal time for myself and my children, and so far been intentional about all these things has yielded positive results.

In conclusion, I would advise that if you can, try to have a small garden where you can plant healthy and nutritious veggies, as it helps us save cost of buying them in the market, these are just ways we can ease ourselves of some of the burden of buying high cost and less nutritious veggies in the market.

You have a very good diet. Never skipping meals and eating freshly made food can make us super healthy.

That's right, thanks for reading

I do agree with you, maintaining a strict diet isn't cheap. But then I have heard people say that it doesn't really matter what you eat, some people are not just meant to stop being slim, which is kind of my case 😂.

Exactly, I guess it's my time now😅😅😅

Maintaining a good diet is not cheap at all considering the country's economy and the cost of things.

Truly, it isn't

Skipping breakfast is my mind's name, am trying to stop it, although I don't like eating junk. When you eat healthy your skin glows and you look healthy than you used to be
