In this week's topic of STRESS AND ANXIETY a number of factors can contribute to it.
FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN
UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS
SITUATIONS BEYOND ONES CONTROL
ECONOMIC HARDSHIP
Let's talk about each of the above mentioned and then consider possible solutions to manage it
FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN:
Because we are mere humans, we are limited in what we can know and how things can turn out. Because of this, it keeps us in suspense of "Who knows" in effect, we are not really sure how things will end up, most times we assume the worst possible outcome and this brings intense feelings of anxious care and stress.
What we can do in this situation? Take one day at a time and work with what we do know at the moment. As for tomorrow's event, let it come first then we device a means to tackle it. Most times too, it's been confirmed that tomorrow or future events are not even as bad or worse as we feared they would
UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS:
Sometimes we try to measure our success or achievement in life with that of another person, trying to compete with them unknowingly. This brings us in a position where we starts to over stretch ourselves or in some cases, some have gone to take loans just to live the kind of life people around them are living just to measure up. With little source of income they have, they need up taking on additional job to meet up with repaying the loan thereby stressing themselves beyond limit and being under pressure to pay back a loan.
What can be done in this situation? Plan yourself according to your means and understand that everyone can never be equal. Be happy with whatever you have and be grateful for that. Taking time to consider others around you who are just wishing to be up to your present status can help you realise that you are not worse of all.
SITUATIONS BEYOND ONES CONTROL:
In life there are a number of things that we can't control which if we don't manage well, can lead to stress or anxiety for us. Consider sickness

When we get sick, we worry about so many things, when will I get well? What's the medical procedure going to be like? Will I be well cared for till I fully recover? What's the cost going to be? Will I on my own care for it without needing to look for assistance elsewhere? All of these thoughts can really stress us out or make us anxious there by adding to our already existing problem.
What can we do? To ensure we keep fit and healthy, regular exercise is important

When we do, we reduce the frequency and intensity of illness that we can face. We can also make it by ensuring we eat healthy food and in good time. That way, we build the body to support itself and fight something's that would normally make us sick
ECONOMIC HARDSHIP.
With the increase of cost of living and stagnant or reduced income, most people find it difficult to care for their basic needs: food shelter and clothing. Then too other necessary bills in the house. This can make us extremely anxious and overly stressed especially for the family head. To meet up with this growing demand, some have had to take up 2 or more job just to get by and in the end lacking good sleep and proper care of themselves.
What can help? Plan the family budget around the income, cut-down on unnecessary expenses, try growing some food yourself and regularly revisit the family budget.
While these are not the only possible causes of stress and anxiety nor are the solutions mentioned to say it will totally take away stress and anxiety, it can be reduced to the minimum and we can control the level of stress and anxiety we face.

Fear of the unknown has ruined so many people, they end up doing what will cause them ruin, but like you said a good family budget, cutting down unnecessary expenses can help one regain happiness and reduce stress.
Sad to say that most times, events don't always turn out as bad as we feared they would. And in some cases, nothing even happen at all. So we would have just stressed out ourselves for nothing aaje

It's true both things help to increase stress especially fear of the unknown that make hard for people to take challenges and exit from the comfort zone.

Knowing what caused your stress and tackling it with the right measures is what we make us live long. This you explained here is a financial stress and you found perfect measure to curb it. Nice write up .
