The concept of aliens is not a new thing. We have seen countless movies and dramas related to aliens, but still now aliens are imaginary things, as we haven't found any proof of aliens till now. But we strongly believe that in this universe, there might be another planet where living creatures exist. I think we believe it because the universe is huge, and we could explore a little part of the huge universe.
Just imagine aliens exist, and they can be good and bad like humans. What if all of a sudden you find an alien in your garden? How will you react in such a case? Let me imagine I am facing a situation, and I am sharing what I will do in such a case.
I love to think of myself as a brave person, but to be honest, I don't think I am so brave, and I can be afraid of many things. I will be afraid of the sudden discovery of an alien in my garden because it's hard to believe. After all, it's not something from this earth. I will not know anything about the alien, which means it can be risky for me, and at the same time, I cannot leave my home either. So at the beginning, I will be in a terrible situation.
At first, I will observe the activity of the alien for sure. After understanding the behavior a little bit, I will try to determine if it's risky or not. If somehow I can gather the courage to go in front of the alien, I will go in front of it. Many unexpected things can happen, but it's something I need to face, as I can't escape from it.
I will try to communicate with the alien. I hope the alien can understand the human language so that the communication can be smooth. At the beginning, I will try to figure out where the alien comes from. What is the purpose of visiting the Earth? If an alien comes to do something bad on this Earth, then I may lose my life, and in that case, my story will end. If that's all the case, then I will try to figure out the capabilities of the alien. I strongly believe that it can possess some kind of ability that is different from humans.
Meeting with an alien is something huge. If someone else knows about it, it can be very risky, and it will be breaking news, which I don't want. Will I keep that alien hidden in my garden? Naturally, I will keep it hidden. I don't think it's okay for the alien to stay in the early because it will be hard for the alien to adapt. But I don't mind if the alien chooses to stay.
Additionally, I'll be happy if the alien can help me using its ability. At the same time, I don't want the alien to face any danger on Earth. If such a situation arises, I will recommend the alien return to its planet for safety.

Can't predict what the alien will do in such a case. Who knows if the alien chose to end me? But I will never wish to face such a situation.

We only see them in movies and I don’t know what I would do in such a situation if I found any anywhere around me. But just like you said, we can try to get closer to find out its mission on earth so as to know what to do next.
