I am a lover of pastries; Cake, Meatpie, bread, Egg-roll, doughnut, fish roll and so on. Whatever treats that can be made with flour. I love making these things. It's like some sort of therapy for me.
As a student in Nigeria, I have always wanted to have another source of income other than the allowance my parents give me. I came up with a business Idea to sell pastries in school. I saw a problem in the pastry market and decided to capitalise on that.
As humans, our taste buds differ. There are individuals who love spicy foods, salty food, medium raw food. It's almost the same with pastries. People want to eat snacks that is delicious. Now that's the problem. Most vendors prioritise profit instead of quality.
I want to be that vendor who prioritise quality and satisfaction of my customers, giving them pastries that would tickle their taste buds.
Here's an instance.
I went to buy bread from a popular bakery in Umuahia. Someone recommended them to me.
They had a variety of bread to choose from. I was a bit indecisive before I decided to go for coconut bread.
I did not regret my choice.
The bread was so good, I had to recommend the bakery to other people and when I have the money, the funds to get it, I would definitely get bread there.
So let's use, for example, I think my signature pastry that I love so much is fish roll, given the fact that it has this spicy filling taste, right?
Then when you cut it with the dough, you fry it crispy and it tastes so good.
People love sardine bread because of that.
Then also for meat pie, Having a very nice filling that's not bland and it's not too thick.It is just the right amount of consistency and taste worthy dough, and then it is not salty, not sugary, but with the right balance.
It's something I would love to give my customers. So that whenever they are confused on which brand they can trust, they will trust my brand.
A business where people would not feel cheated of their money
People would feel comfortable having to coming to my store and eat snacks, and they know they would be eating something that is healthy.
Now, like I said, in the world where everybody is looking for profit, I am basically concerned on the choice of the people, what people want.
But I think it's best, to have loyal customers, people who would patronise my brand no matter the price because they know that they are getting the value for money and so I try to put my all in the business, in the snacks, physically.
Pastries, be it cake, the different kind of cakes, make it look aesthetically pleasing and still taste good.
Because I mean, why would you make snacks and it doesn't taste nice?
Why would you give me snacks that tastes like chaff?
Which is what a lot of companies do nowadays.
The bread most local stores these days is just floor sugar, salt, milk.
There's nothing to spice it up.
It's just there, it's just plain, and that's bad for business.
I do hope to expand, if I have
the funds or get sponsors.
Business ethics is some very important, and it is better to give quality over quantity.
Some people don't even care if they know how to get something done or not, they just rush into starting the business because they see people making profits from the same business.
Anytime I see health uniform. I feel so happy that am part of one wearing it. This actually a sad experience
