In this video I go over the modulo operation which returns the remainder of a division between two numbers. For example 100 mod 9 = 1 because 100/9 = 99 + 1/9, hence 1 is the remainder. I then prove that the vortex digit sum (summing the digits until a single digit is obtained) is always equal to the modulo (base - 1) of the number. For example in base 10, the remainder 67 mod 9 = 4 v= 6 + 7 = 13 v= 1 + 3 = 4. This works for any base number system! YouTube - Summary - Notes - Playlist - MES Science playlist
