Karma only exists in the consciousness of those who believe it.

After I saw this week's prompt on karma, I wrote down the topic on my Google Docs. I wasn't able to begin writing due to my busy morning schedule, so this afternoon, as I look back at the topic, I began to wonder how I came up with this topic. However I have overheard many people say that karma is real, some even said that karma would catch up with a person.

Many people think that when something happens to someone, especially if it is negative, they'd say it is karma. Probably they got this notion from movies and tales from moonlight. I can beat my chest and say that karma does not exist anywhere. It only exists in the minds of those who believe it.

Many people have done evil to others and got away with it without repercussions. Many people have done good to people, and nothing good has happened to the person; instead, negative things keep happening to those who do good and vice versa.

I was in a vehicle one evening, and right in front of us, a tricycle hit a deliveryman, and he fell into the gutter and ran away. My driver wanted to pursue him but I told him not to. As we progressed a little further, getting to the junction, the same tricycle man had driven himself into a gutter sustaining injuries and his tricycle was damaged. It was at that point that my driver then said that his karma came too early. I told him that it's not karma but rather carelessness on the part of the tricycle rider. Or probably he was scared that he was being pursued hence he lost focus and fell into the gutter.

A real-life situation is not a movie script where people are rewarded based on their actions. Or rather things happen to people as a result of what they did. Let's look at the case of politicians who have stolen money meant for the well-being of the public, despite prayers and curses from all angles, yet those guys are living healthy and till old age.

I always advise people not to allow another person to treat them badly thinking that karma will catch up with the person, because it won't. So it is better to protect yourself from wicked and unreasonable men.

Think about this, if Karma were real, a lot of people wouldn't survive till today. Many people would either die mysteriously or something negative would have happened to a lot of people. In this life, everyone is guilty.
