Success in its truest Form
I have written on many platforms telling people what success entails because I have come to realise that a lot of people hold the wrong notion about the subject of success. A lot of people see success in the eyes of acquiring wealth, like cars, good houses, money, gadgets, expensive jewellery, clothing and many others. This belief system has passed from one generation to another, and the younger generation has taken success to another dimension in that anyone who does not possess these ostentatious materials is seen as a total failure.
This belief system has crept into all facets of society, beginning from the family, workplaces, and churches, among others. In the family, if you do not have money, no one regards you, even younger siblings will look down on you. In the church, you will not be allowed to occupy exalted positions and in the community, no one will take you seriously in anything. So society has subjected everything to the possession of wealth as success.
Meanwhile, a greater and better explanation or meaning of Success encompasses the possession of material things, though it is part of it. Success differs from person to person in fact, success is best defined by an individual and not the other way round. What the other sees as success might be a colossal failure to the other; this is one reason success can not be defined.
Success itself is not static, it changes with respect to many factors like age, exposure, experiences and many others. As we grow in age, our perspective on certain things changes. A lot of people's perspectives about life have changed as a result of experiences gathered over time.
Success does not have an omnibus meaning since people perceive success differently. An attempt to define success will result in error after error.
For me, when defining success, I always see it as the ability to achieve one's desired goals on time. Every goal set by someone and also achieved by the said person at that time is a success for the person. This is the reason I always urge people to celebrate their wins, no matter how small they might appear.
Whenever I see people criticising or looking down on others, whenever they post their wins on social media or in real life, I just see them as unwise people. People without an understanding of success. People who have a vague knowledge of success.
So far, with this understanding, I do not think that any reasonable and sensible person is without success in their lifetime. And no one is a total failure in this life. Things may not be rosy with a person currently, but that doesn't mean that he's a failure; such a person must have had some wins in his life.
With this understanding of success, it will be difficult for people to always feel envious of another person's success. You won't feel depressed or pressured to get anything because someone else got it.
This is how success should be seen.

Success is not static and that is why one should not place his mind that success is a must
