Managing Pressure, Stress And Anxiety

Life is a very interesting place. Many people have their diverse perspective of life and these perspective is probably based on individual experiences in life. Its interesting because with a persons definition of what life means to them, we can see through to understand a bit of what they have experienced in life.

Life, A bitter-sweet place, as I like to call it, is filled with many different things - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some people are born with a silver spoon while some are not born with any spoon, making it difficult to surf the waves of life.

There are two major types of stress I know of, Eustress and distress, however, the stress of life encompasses distress. But this does not apply to everyone though because they have literally everything they want in a platter of gold. Just a phone call will get things done for them within minutes.

Being a hustling person from this part of the world, we have strived a lot to get things for ourselves. Our stress tolerance has been maxed out, to the extent where we don't really feel the stress as much as we do when we started the journey.

This post is an entry for Scifi Multiverse prompt, MANAGING LIFE PRESSURES (OVERCOMING STRESS AND ANXIETY). In this post, I would share how I manage life pressures, stress and overcome anxiety.

At the moment, I'm actually facing quite a lot of pressure in many aspect of my life. The most intense pressure is from my mom. Since last year, she has been pressuring me to get married but I honestly don't want to. I don't think I want to have a girlfriend, talk more of getting married, but my mom don't really want to understand my reasons. All she wants are grandkids. Funny enough, I'm not the only male child she has.

The way i'm managed this issue was to tell her to ask my elder brother to marry first. If he does, I may consider getting married. So, currently, I'm a little bit free from the pressure and my elder brother is in hot fire... Lol.. I don't know why my brothers and I don't want to get married any time soon.

I have not actually found a way to overcome stress. I'm always stressed out to the max and this is currently affecting my health. My schedule most of the times, is tight always tight. Sometimes, I try to get some sleep, but due to the regular change of my circadian rythm, I can't really get quality sleep.

There was one time when I worked 24hrs for a few days with little to no sleep. Sometimes, I get 3 hours sleep while sometimes, I get 4 hours sleep in 24hrs. I really need to improve this.

One of the major ways I control my fears is to tell myself the worst that can happen, and prepare for it. If i'm in a situation where i'm scared of something, I would ask myself, what's the worst that can happen? Most times, the answer is - nothing.

I don't really show fear when i'm scared. I just try to play cool, find solutions, to the thing that is making my anxiety grow, then, I move on.

Moms can be a lot the pressure is every where am glad my mom stopped pressuring to get married. Everything will fall in place at the right, that's what I always tell her.I understand how you must have felt.
