Problems of non-renewable energy.

in SciFi Multiverselast month

Hello, everyone.

Energy is no doubt an important thing to consider if we want to live a comfortable life, and since time immemorial, man has been on a mission to provide for himself ways to enjoy a comfortable life, and for that reason, man has explored different sources of energy, and over time, man realizes that a particular source of energy has limits, advantages, and disadvantages, and he goes out for more as well as explores other sources of energy, and that is how we have the many sources of energy that we have today.

The quality of life anywhere is said to be directly proportional to the energy consumed within the area; this implies that low energy consumption in a particular area or nation means the quality of life in the given area is poor or low. Energy consumption rate can be used to determine the quality of life of the people. Developed countries consume higher energy than developing countries, which proves that the quality of life in developed countries is higher and better than the quality of life in undeveloped or developing countries.

We have energy that can be derived from coal, oil, nuclear energy, wind energy, solar energy, fossil fuels, hydro energy, and so many other sources of energy that man has explored and has found out their advantages and disadvantages. Categorically, energy sources can be categorized into renewable energy and non-renewable energy.

Renewable energy sources include solar energy, wind energy, hydro energy, geothermal energy, etc. All these energy sources are considered renewable because they are inexhaustible and replenish over time.

Non-renewable energy sources include fossil fuels, oil, coal, etc. All these are considered non-renewable because they are unreliable and quite exhaustible because their production rate is lower than the consumption rate.

Problems of non-renewable energy.

Pollution: Whenever we use non-renewable energy sources like fossil fuels, they burn and release harmful substances into the air and environment, thereby affecting the environment negatively. Both the production and consumption processes of fossil fuels are harmful to the environment.

Carbon emissions: The use of non-renewable energy sources like fossil fuels brings about carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.

Health hazard: It is no new news how much harm carbon monoxide (smoke) is to our health, and this is majorly generated from the burning of fossil fuels; some have seen for themselves what too much intake of carbon monoxide can cause, while some have heard how dangerous it can be.

Non renewable energy is unreliable and can get exhausted at any point in time without any warning signs.
