The struggles of Electricity in Delta state

in SciFi Multiverse2 months ago

I have been to the few countries before and the few people l know over there, always say their electricity is constant which made me to wonder if my country would ever be like that someday. All through the years in Nigeria and the state where l live in, Delta state warri. We've been having problems with electricity due to its not always constant. And at the end of the month the BEDC, (Benin electricity distribution company PLC) will be expecting us to pay our light bill because if we don't our light is going to get cut off from the electricity line, so we had no choice than to comply to it.

But later on we pulled out from the Direct power supply line to the prepaid meter due to the frequent power Outages, inconsistent billing, and a lack of responsiveness to hear our complaints. And since we start using the prepaid meter our light became rationed making it better than before where by we only have light once in a blue moon, this shows the unavailability for the company to provide a reliable and efficient services to its customers.

But to me l feel solar panel and prepaid meter are just the best because the solar panel charges itself through the sunlight making it have the energy to generate light, the solar is not dependent on other sources of energy, and it also works silently no noise unlike the generator that works manually produces poisonous fumes and causes noise pollution in the environment.

The prepaid meter is also good in that its much easier to avoid building up debts in the area of the electricity, it reduces risk of disconnection from the light and the ability to monitor energy consumption. So the people using solar panel and prepaid meters benefits more than the people using the direct power supply.

But despite the fact that Solar panel and prepaid meter are good they have some barriers like for the solar panel, it could lead to the roof damage, it only produces energy when the sun is shining and it expires. While for the Prepaid meter, it could disconnect due to insufficient funds, low income may lead to struggling to credit the meters when it's finished and it expires also.

To me l feel the Companies in charge of this electricity should take immediate steps to address these concerns and demonstrate it's commitment to providing a service that meets the needs of it's customers.

The electricity issue is so rampad in Nigeria

Yes and that is our main problem in Nigeria

The electricity in this our state is very annoying, some weeks there’s low current and other days there’s no light at all

That is really bad to be honest and at the end of the month they will be expecting you guys to pay for the light bill, light that u guys didn't even enjoy

The prepaid meter is a lot better as your monthly bill will not keep increasing for no reason..

Exactly you get the point unlike the direct light that you will still pay even tho you didn't use it at all
