Greetings!

Right from when I was younger, one habit that I have over the time prioritised is to save money and this is not borne out of nothing but by my determination to succeed in life. When my mum was alive, she called me into her room on a particular night and all she was telling me was how to be prudent with whatever I have. Although I was younger back then, her words were not just ordinary to me but with deeper meanings.
In her words, she said, “Sam, for one to be great in life, one must save and be prudent with whatever he or she has.” She continued and said, “if one is not prudent, then it would be hard for such a person to be able to save and what this would lead to is bankruptcy, so my dear son, I want you to save out of whatever you have so as to prepare for the dry season when there would be no more rain.”
These words really pierced my heart and ever since then, I started saving out of my meagre allowance given to me by my parents and plus other gifts given to me by our guests whenever they should come around. Back then, I used to save using the piggy bank called kolo in my local language to save my money.
So, when others are spending their money recklessly, what I used to do with my own money was to save it and this I used to start from January till December after which I would use part of it to buy Christmas clothes.
So, savings has been part of me right from when I was young, so, growing up, I graduated from using the box for daily contributions, (Ajo ojojumo). But one thing I didn't like about the Ajo either daily or weekly or even monthly is that, whenever it's my turn, the organisers would tell me that it had scattered and ever since then, I stopped this contribution of a thing.
However, what I now do is to put out my money into the stock exchange and this is now my only method of saving my money as no one would tell me that the thing has scattered whenever I wish to retrieve my money and even besides this, another thing is that, there's profit on a stick if it rises, but this is not all the time as there also be lost on a stick if it falls like I'm currently experiencing it right now.
In conclusion, to save is good as it helps to promote our future, but one thing is that we should save right.
Thanks for reading.
