I wouldn't want to be a robot

I've always wondered what it would feel like to be a robot.

Robots don't get tired. They just keep working until they complete their work. People say that robots have more efficiency than humans because they can do more better work in a faster time. Robots don't have to eat or sleep.

This is probably why some some companies are now replacing humans with robots. The robots are effective for handling the manual labour.

Robots don't have feelings. They have no emotions. They just do things according to how they were programmed. Most times, they take the most logical decision.

Robots can do the kind of work that would require like 10 people to do. Some robots have more physical strength. They can lift heavier objects, they can do a job in minutes, that would take humans days to weeks to complete.
Robots don't get sick or suffer injuries from work hazards or stress.

In the midst of all these, if I were to find out I'm a robot, I would have mixed feelings about it. A lot of thoughts would also cross my mind.
First, I might like the fact that I'd be able to carry out work better, faster, and more efficiently, but then, I would wonder why I didn't get signs that I was a robot all these while. I would ask myself what the intention was.
In fact, I would have more questions than answers.

On the other hand, I won't be excited about being a robot because It means I won't have feelings. I won't have emotions to showcase. What is life without emotions and feelings. This is one of the beautiful things about being human.
As humans, we can feel. We have emotions and we express these emotions. Emotions are what make life amazing and interesting. That's what I would miss if I were a robot. I definitely do not want to miss that.

So if I found out I was a robot, I won't really be happy about it. Life would just be too mechanical. I won't have friends or relationships. I won't have people to connect with. In fact, If I discover that I'm a robot, I won't tell anyone. I'll do my best to hide it because if people knew, they won't see me the same. They won't be able to connect with me on a deeper level.

In conclusion, I'll just say that being a robot might be great, but being human is better.

Sort:

It won't be a good feeling to be a robot. Our emotions though make us vulnerable are part the things that make life beautiful. A robot has no will, but thankfully we have ours.

Yeah you're right but I guess since I was a robot before and I had the feelings then there's possibility I was programmed to have it and I still remain that same robot even after I realize the truth so the feelings will still be functioning.

Yes, I agree with the fact that some people may choose to act strange getting to know the new fact and may start treating someone differently unlike before

You don balance the two sides which I totally agree on bcos robot fit strong, fast, and no dey tire, but e no go ever sabi wetin e mean to feel love, pain, joy, or even small heartbreak. Na emotions dey make life sweet and bitter at the same time, and na that mix dey make person truly human. Even if robot fit do ten people work, e no fit understand wetin “I miss you” mean

The more you ask yourself, the more you will understand how you became a robot. It would not make any human happy if he were a robot. Very nice post, best wishes.
