Relationships and friendships are built on trust. It's the foundation on which they grow.
For anyone to say that someone is their friend, there has to be some level of trust.
As humans, we all need friendships and relationships to survive. We need that emotional, moral and physical support that comes with friendships. No human can survive on their own.
These are things that we crave, and it's part of our nature. We can't always look out for ourselves. We can't always do things for ourselves. This is where friends come in. Friends do the things others aren't will to do for us. Friends go the extra mile. Friend are there no matter what. Imagine what life would be like without that.
Since trust is absolutely crucial to friendships, it is also crucial for life. Trust is a glue. It holds people together. Whether relationship or friendship, trust bonds people. You can't connect with someone you don't trust. People say they trust their friends with their life. It takes trust to do that. Trust is not something one should take for granted.
Trust is too important to break. It takes a lot to trust someone in the first place. This is because trust makes you vulnerable. When you trust someone, you're letting your guard down when it comes to that person. This means you're giving that person the power to hurt you while hoping that they don't.
This is why trust should not be broken. Breaking someone's trust is one thing to avoid at all cost. Trust, once broken, is very difficult to get back. For some people, if you break their trust once, you're never getting it back. In fact, this is the case for a lot of people, and it's understandable. It's not easy to give someone who hurt you another chance, when they break your trust in a friendship or relationship.
Nevertheless, I still believe trust can be gotten back. It may not be as it used to be. It may not be total trust, but at least, some trust can be gotten back. It usually takes time to regain that trust. It usually requires an act to prove that one is worth of the trust. But ultimately, trust can be gotten back, for some people. You just have to show how remorseful you are.
The important thing however remains that one should never break someone's trust. It's can be seen as a betrayal and some people don't forgive it.
Funny how people claim to be friends with people they don't even trust or like.
Friendship and good relationship depends on trust.
