This is a very interesting prompt, it's time to imagine vividly , it's important to note that vampires are blood sucking demons, we see how blood thirsty they are in movies, and one beautiful day my friend, like a best friend reveals to me that she is a vampire, not just her, but her entire family, I might ask for an evidence jokingly, like ask her to enter the sun, because vampires get burns when exposed to sun, then ask her to show me her carnivorous teeth, because it's really going to be funny to me and hard to believe at first, I might even joke about it, funny enough I don't believe vampires exist, we only watch vampire in movies, they only exist in movies.
But if she gets really serious and creepy, it's going to be a shock, I would really be scared, and then ask why she haven't tried to hurt me since, because she had alot of chances but didn't , and now she's telling me a deep secret that could kill me, I believe her family would never want me to know that, I wouldn't even like her family to know, I know their secret, because they could harm me too, to make sure I don't expose their deadly secret.
It's very okay to be shocked and scared at first, at this point I will consider the fact that she has always been a vampire all these while, and I didn't know, and she have never thought of hurting me, but instead, showed me her true self, that's enough reason to trust her a little, it takes alot of courage to reveal such trait to a human.
The next step I would take is getting to know more about vampires, so I would know my boundaries, I would make research, ask her certain questions, so I don't get to meet her or her entire family on a bad day, maybe their hunting day.
I will definitely keep it as a secret and that's because her family isn't hurting anyone , telling others will lead to stigmatization or make them hurt people.
I would respect their boundaries and secret, and that's because they don't hurt anyone, like my friend said.
We are still going to be cool, but I would be extremely careful, because being a vampire on earth with humans, I'm your food, vampires feed on human blood and that's enough reason to be careful, I will definitely not hang out with you at night, stay at your house alone or a dark room.
She is honest and truthful, that's why I would get to know her better, but careful while knowing my vampire bestfriend.
