I was running a workshop recently and one of the synths we had their was the little Korg Volca FM. I don’t own one of my own but the sounds it makes were delightful. Very Chiptune in this instance.
This sample was loaded into Neon, a sample editor for the iPad and that’s what you see here.
Volcas are nice and cheap, small, run on built in batteries and highly recommended.

That's quite retro. Definitely echos of old video games. There's a lot of cheap little synths out there, so it's a fun time for musicians.
