This is the last of the commissions I did last year and it was the most important to me, since it was the first time I worked illustrating a book, it was a very long job but it was worth it, as that is something I always wanted to do.
Esta es la última de las comisiones que hice el año pasado y fue la más importante para mí, ya que fue la primera vez que trabajé ilustrando un libro, fue un trabajo muy largo, pero valió la pena ya que esa es algo que siempre quise hacer.
The book is called “The Complete John Lockmoon's Children's Tales (For Adults),” I will not post the photos here as they are the book’s illustrations now so I will only show the front and back cover that I also made.
El libro se llama “The Complete John Lockmoon's Children's Tales (For Adults)”, no publicaré las fotos aquí ya que son las ilustraciones del libro ahora, así que sólo mostraré la portada y contraportada que también hice.
They were simple illustrations, so for the whole book I wanted to create an effect as if it were made with watercolor. They asked me to be in black and white, and to all the drawings I added only an extra color, to make it a little more interesting.
Fueron ilustraciones sencillas, así que para todo el libro quise crear un efecto como si fuera hecho con acuarela. Me pidieron que fuera en blanco y negro y a todos los dibujos les añadí sólo un color extra, para que fuera un poco más interesante.
It's a book of several short stories, and each story is super crazy but very interesting, because you don't know what is going to happen. They are all very different from each other, as if they were different worlds, so making the illustrations for each one was really fun.
Es un libro de varios cuentos cortos, y cada historia es super loca pero muy interesante, porque no sabes lo que pasará. Todos son muy distintos uno del otro, como si fueran mundos distintos, así que hacer las ilustraciones para cada uno fue muy divertido.
