Andrés Bello fue un profesor, filósofo, investigador y venezolano, que participó en la lucha por la independencia de Venezuela, aportando ideas e ideales revolucionarios para su consecución.
En su larga trayectoria resalta la educación brindada a Simón Bolívar, al cual con brillante enseño literatura y geografia.
Sin embargo, Andrés Bello, fue mucho más que solo un maestro del libertador. De creencias humanistas las cuales ponía en práctica, ha sido considerado por los historiadores como el primer prócer civil de la historia americana.
Pero, ¿porque un prócer civil?
Pues, Andrés no era un hombre de armas, sino un intelectual que soñaba con una América libre, dónde no hubiese esclavos y existiera la igualdad.
Una América sin ataduras, dónde el color de piel o posición social no fuesen limitantes para aprender a leer o escribir.
Considerado por muchos como filósofo, entre sus pensamientos más llamativas está:
" La educación es el arma más poderosa que puedes usar para cambiar el mundo".
La frase anteriormente escrita, describe a la perfección el pensamiento de Andrés Bello, frase que hoy tiene más vigencia que nunca, ya que vivimos en un mundo dónde parece que la educación, la lecturas y las obras literarias han sido desplazadas por la tecnología.
Un personaje de altura.
Andrés Bello participó en legaciones de Colombia y Chile, impartio clases de literatura y humanidades y fue senador en Chile.
Su gran pasión fue la poesía, y el amor hacia una América que soño libre, libre de cadenas opresivas de yugo imperial pero sobretodo libre para pensar y entender, que la educación hace mentes, hombres, y alma libre.

Good afternoon dear friends, it is a pleasure to join the 6th contest. La Abeja Obrera literature edition in honor of the great Master Andrés Bello.
Andrés Bello was a professor, philosopher, researcher and Venezuelan, who participated in the fight for the independence of Venezuela, contributing ideas and revolutionary ideals for its achievement.
In his long career, the education provided to Simón Bolívar stands out, to whom he brilliantly taught literature and geography.
However, Andrés Bello was much more than just a teacher of the liberator. Humanist beliefs which he put into practice, has been considered by historians as the first civilian hero in American history.
But, why a civilian hero?
Well, Andrés was not a man of arms, but an intellectual who dreamed of a free America, where there were no slaves and there was equality.
An America without ties, where the color of skin or social position were not limiting to learn to read or write.
Considered by many as a philosopher, among his most striking thoughts is
"Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world."
The previously written phrase perfectly describes the thought of Andrés Bello, a phrase that is more relevant today than ever, since we live in a world where it seems that education, reading and literary works have been displaced by technology.
A tall character.
Andrés Bello participated in legations of Colombia and Chile, taught literature and humanities classes and was a senator in Chile.
His great passion was poetry, and love for an America that dreamed free, free from the oppressive chains of the imperial yoke but above all free to think and understand, that education makes minds, men, and soul free.
