Fue una visita amena y relajante; Roma tiene la antigüedad para seducirnos y la frescura para envejecernos porque basta detenerse en el Coliseo para que la historia aflore y te traslade al pasado, a los grandes eventos políticos, deportivos y sanguinarios que se escenificaron como la realidad del momento. No sé mucho de historia, pero siento que en estos muros, en estas estatuas, aunque sin cabezas; que en el entorno e incluso en el aire, está la historia de Europa, de América, de donde vengo; y del mundo porque hablar de Roma y de su imperio es hablar del avance del hombre y su historia universal con sus desastres y progresos. Fue un viaje rápido, pero placentero y en las fotos sólo deseo mostrarles parte de lo que fue el mundo de antes, al que estanos ligados por el nexo indisoluble del tiempo.
It was a pleasant and relaxing visit; Rome has the antiquity to seduce us and the freshness to age us because it is enough to stop at the Colosseum for history to come to the surface and take you to the past, to the great political, sporting and bloody events that were staged as the reality of the moment. I don't know much about history, but I feel that in those walls, in those statues, even without a head; that in the surroundings and even in the air, there is the history of Europe, of America, where I come from; and of the world because to speak of Rome and its empire is to speak of the advance of man and its universal history with its disasters and progress. It has been a quick but pleasant trip, and in the photos I only want to show you part of what was the world before, to which we are united by the indissoluble nexus of time.
