When people with particular characteristics are consistently portrayed in a particular way, we start to assume everyone with those characteristics will act in that manner. It is bad that people do that but they are not to be entirely blamed as this seems part of human nature. The bigger blame should be put on those pushing the idea that particular races, religions, and cultures are always doing bad things.
