I agree with you about the rewards. There should be much less awarded because of Hive Power. Us Dolphins (me) Orcas and Whales get rewarded with interest for staking HIVE. Sure, a little extra rewards for holding HP is fine, but now it is WAY too much. Let's give the minnows a chance to earn. We have enough.
Re. the downvotes. I think they do have their place, to cut out rewards for spam and plagiarism for example. I've read some convincing arguments for this. I think the way of downvoting can be improved though. Downvoting accounts might be a better (or better combined) way. Certainly Reputation system if vastly re-worked could potentially do away with the need for downvotes, but until then, i think it's needed.
Re. the DAO. Its a pot of money, which is used to fund proposals which anyone can make.
