When one wants to remember something, one will when taking the time for it, we dont need the trigger of a still image
My father recently passed away...He suffered dementia and so was unable to remember much at all...But put a photograph in front of him, a picture of his grand daughter for instance and his face would light up...So, I actually think that still images do have a massive impact upon ones memory.
Going through my old photos brings memories flooding back, things I had maybe forgotten from many years ago and then the flood gates open and I can experience them all over again. We are all different of course, but this is how it is for me and certainly for my dad who would react so positively when seeing images of people his mind was unable to recall.
Thanks for your comment and all the best for the weekend.
Sorry to read you dad passed away; My condolences.
I suppose you are right, photographs can do what you're telling. When I look at photographs when I was really young (two, three, four years of age), I have the impression I remember the events, though I also get the feeling I may make up some of it just because our mind is so strong, we can create things that are not there, or not real.
Wish you a great Sunday, kinda evening in Aussie, so its not that long anymore, but still :)
Thank you, we miss dad but his suffering is over.
Yes, Sunday night almost 6pm...Just relaxing. I hope your weekend has been good.
It has :) NJOY
