The following are pictures I stopped to take while biking yesterday through an old lakeside town. It's a beautiful and charming village, with wonderful shops and quaint (but expensive) homes. And yet just a block or two out of town there are old machine shops, boat shops, train tracks and lumber yards.
These pictures seemed to me to be the perfect subject for monochromes. I came upon this yard with old army trucks and at first it looked abandoned. But then I realized I heard some kind of machine running, and there was a docile white lab resting in the shade under the fender of one of the trucks.
I also took a picture of the train depot. They still have an old leisure train that runs sometimes on summer days - or it did before COVID-19. I am hopeful it will run again.
