Greetings, fellow sentient beings!
Some of you might remember that in the middle of the summer I posted a short series of photographs, showing you the point where Veleka River entered the Black Sea. I did write about it changing its mouth and taking different forms season to season, even month to month...Sometimes the changes are daily. Because the scale is not that big. A few cubic meters of sand over an area ten to fifteen meters wide is not that permanent a think. It draws new live paintings constantly.
Here is my previous article about the mouth of Veleka River...
A view from above taken by drone...
And the way it looked from its surface back in August 2020...

As can be seen, it has somewhat more force than before, not just licking the shores of the sea from the opposing side, but streaming in, digging a bit into the sandy slopes on both sides.
I cannot say if that was caused by more rains or any other reason for the river to gain momentum, it might have been simply the sandy barrier giving some way, eventually. It might have been the sea that broke down the barrier and helped the river out. That is easily accomplished. Despite the rock that you can see standing there and breaking the waves. On a day or a night of strong waves, that wouldn't be stopping them.
A bit of nostalgia hits home (Oops...) as I post this since it may be about the last visit for this year and who knows how long yet...
But who knows...
I might be able to see it in the autumn.
Thank you for coming along!
Yours,
Manol
