I want to share a view of mine about visual arts that was not mine originally. I adopted it. After some time spent in doing the contrary. After hearing experienced people in the field. To me, it was a small but important lesson.
Well, the title clearly says what the basic idea is.
The best engagement you can do here is telling me in the comments below which of the following two photos is more interesting to you. No wrong answers. I respect your personal views. Just curious.
I will tell you my choice in a moment. Let me just first distract you for a little while longer with mostly irrelevant data about the shots themselves.
The settings of the first one were:
Aperture F 5.6; Shutter Speed 1/1600; ISO 200; Focal Length 200 mm.
The settings of the second one were:
Aperture F 8; Shutter Speed 1/800; ISO 200; Focal Length 131 mm.
The same lens was used and it goes from 70 mm (wide) to 200 mm (long) zoom (Focal Length).

My Choice
...of a way to tell visual stories nowadays tends to opt for the likes of the first photo I hereby shared. Closer, often isolated, more towards the minimalistic, with a carefully selected moment captured.
I believe in Less is More. I believe in your imagination and curiosity. I believe that focusing on one hero or thing helps the audience immerse better. See? My text so far has been quite chaotic. So, you might say, I am learning to stay focused, with images first. Then, life. Eventually.
What is your choice?
Do you want to know more about this character? I can show you the environment that stork lives in, without showing you the stork. It's not typical but this one is a suburban dweller. Well, not that much different there than in the rural parts of the country, so why not?

First showing movement on feathers very appealing, an early morning stretch with loads of character.
What untidy nests so many larger birds have, this one perched on a pole makes it unique. Living proof, home is what you make it.
