Based on a true story...
Funke came from a loving home, a family of three kids. Her parents were avid Christians, they loved God with everything they owned, her dad was even a deacon in church and was well respected everywhere.Funke grew up knowing the Bible and believing every word in the Bible, she never had doubt about her faith and kept God's commandments.
Her parents did the best job with bringing them up in the right way and they attended the best schools.
When funke turned 12, her mom got diagnosed with cancer, the doctors did their best to keep her alive with different medications. Funke watched her mom grow thin and she was scared because she couldn't process the thougt of losing her mom. She remembered God's words that said.
"Ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and the door of heaven will be open to you"
She went on her knees and begged God to save her mom from this illness, she held on to her faith and hoped for a miracle but it never came. Her mom died few weeks later.
This event left a huge scar in her heart. She asked her dad if God really exists and he said yes. She asked why God never answered her prayers, her dad said said everything happens for a reason. She asked her dad the reason for her mom's death, her dad just stayed silent and couldn't say anything. Funke was filled with questions
and confusion though she didn't give up on her faith.
Three years later, her dad was involved in a ghastly car accident, she went back to God, she prayed, fasted but nothing, they lost him too. Funke and her siblings moved to another city to live with their aunt, a new life started for them.
I listened keenly as she shared her story, the day her dad died was the last day she prayed. Funke is 26 now and when she was asked if she believed in God, she said "I don't know, I just don't pray or read the bible, I don't attend church. My parents did all of that and have nothing to do show for it. I don't know what I feel towards God, I just want to live and stay happy."
Funke lost faith because of all she went through, lots of people out there are like her too. They feel indifferent about God and all religious stuff, a woman said she hopes Funke gets a miracle, a miracle so big that she won't doubt the existence of God.
