I received a text this weekend from Carl, that he found the perfect wedding gift for me, if I can convince my bride to purchase it. I send Carl a "What?" text. He sends a photo of a NightHawk T3 Custom .45acp! He was at a gun show near Houston and said it was the perfect 1911 for a collector like me. I asked him how much it was, and he comes back with $3000. I told Carl, "Debbie loves me, but she would never spend $3000 for a gun!" Shit I wouldn't pay $3k for a gun, especially a brand new gun, I would never shoot it. NightHawk makes a fine weapon, but when you pay that kinda money for a gun, you really limit the amount of people that you can sell that weapon to. I can sell ten $300 guns in a weekend, but it would take years to find a buyer for a $3000 gun. I've done very well in my collecting of weapons since I started in 1979, when I turned 21. Back then you could buy a high quality handgun for $200, especially when people were dumping their revolvers to buy high capacity Glocks. Debbie will just have to keep looking for the perfect gift for me, but I'll be happy that she will be my gift forever more.
