Widow's peak

"What an inheritance! You're richer than you thought and all thanks to that widow's peak that cleared up the mess, speaking loudly like those genes of the old man that even without the DNA test, proved that you were the rightful heir."

"Yeah... crazy, right? Sometimes, what one considers a defect turns out to be a blessing."

Daniel didn't seem as enthusiastic as I was, whoever saw us at this very moment might think that the nouveau riche was me, because he was frantic, my empathy confused the roles. Now all that remains is for the will to be probated, which could take a while or a long time, according to the whims of the law.

"In one day?" I asked, admiring his luck. "Congratulations, then! Let's drink to that!" I went to the bar to serve two drinks and Daniel stopped me with a wave of his hand.

"No, brother. I don't want to drink alcohol. I haven't been feeling well."

I looked at him in amazement, so many good things happening to him and he wasn't enjoying them. His countenance was not the best, he had dark circles under his eyes as purple as an aubergine. It seemed unusual how in so few days he had deteriorated so much.

"A glass of water I accept you. Tomorrow you accompany me to the protocol of the will, I need you with me"

The glass slipped out of his hand and hit the ground with a great crash, leaving broken glass scattered everywhere, and if he had not acted so quickly, holding it, he would have fallen too. I called 911 and they came immediately, moving him to a Health Centre. They did several tests and it turned out that he has a congenital condition called Tricuspid Atresia, a heart condition in which the tricuspid valve of the heart is absent or has not developed normally. The defect blocks the flow of blood from the right atrium to the right ventricle of the heart. But, the specialist explained to me that with a surgical operation there is a good prognosis.

"Well, it turned out better than his 'widow's peak', that if it can't be reversed." I thought and smiled hopefully.

What even is a widow's peak? I thought it was a hairline. lol.

Nice freewrite. I'll be back later with today's prompt!

Hahaha... Yes, it is a hairline, but many times it is accentuated when the balding process begins and it looks funny.

I'm here to deliver the Tuesday prompt so please write us another!
