Hey folks — glad you dropped in! If you’ve ever wondered how MoonKarts turns a high-speed race into a tactical battlefield, you’ll love what the power-ups bring to the table. As someone who follows blockchain gaming closely, I want to unpack exactly how power-ups work in MoonKarts, why they matter, and how you can use them smartly.
Power-Ups: The Wild Cards in Your Racing Deck
In MoonKarts, your kart’s base stats—speed, acceleration, handling, health—come from your kart, driver, tech cards, and accessories. But power-ups don’t directly alter these stats. Instead, they grant you special abilities during a race.
These abilities let you disrupt rivals, defend yourself, or get tactical bursts of advantage. In multiplayer, where positioning and timing matter most, that extra layer of “active skills” can tilt the balance.
Power-ups are obtained via packs (Centauri packs include a small set of them) and are usable in your race loadouts. They don’t carry rarities like normal cards (other than foil vs. regular), but the timing and combination you pick make all the difference.
The Six Key Power-Ups You Need to Know

MoonKarts currently offers six distinct power-ups—each with its own use case and situational value.
- Lunar Glide - Drops an oil slick behind your kart. Opponents who pass over it may lose control or spin out. Great on sharp corners or narrow stretches.
- Celestial Thrust - A burst of acceleration. Use this to break away, overtake, or respond when someone tries to pass you on a straight.
- Moonfire Missile - A homing attack that locks onto an opponent’s kart, inflicting damage and knocking them off path. Very powerful offensively.
- Cosmic Disruptor - Emits a short-range electromagnetic pulse around your kart, disrupting nearby opponents—slowing them or messing with their controls.
- Lunar Bolt - A targeted lightning strike on a specific opponent. The victim loses control momentarily—good for knocking out a strong racer ahead.
- Lunar Barrier - A defensive power-up. Activates a temporary shield around your kart, protecting you from attacks, collisions, or other power-ups aimed your way.
If you’re serious about climbing the multiplayer ladders or making your setup competitive, mastering power-ups is just as important as upgrading your kart.
