Many vitamins and health in one apple

in Homesteadinglast month

Hello everyone! I'm a little late writing about my weekend, but that's why I had to go apple picking today, so I'll write about it. My wife says that today is the first day of fall when the apples have black seeds when cut and that it's time to pick them and store them for the winter.I would be grateful for advice on how to store apples and what to do with them. We make juices, of course, but I have a lot of fruit and we don't like apple jam. One year they all went bad in a month, most likely because I didn't spray them.
So let's start with the apple that my son loves the most.It is delicious and juicy, sweet and aromatic. In our country it is also called RED DELICES.It's a large apple, yellow inside and very sweet. I plant it because it pollinates my other apples.Let's eat this apple because it can't last long.I know you would like one right now

This apple is called SUMATOVKA in my area. The tree is very lush and the fruit is small. It ripens in October, so we will pick a little just to try it.

The best apple that can last all winter and is not treated with anything is KOLACARA. These are old varieties of apples planted by my father, brought from a mountain village.

And finally, my favorite apple, which no one in my house eats. The Granny Smith variety, which comes from Holland. The flesh of the fruit is firm, juicy and yellow. The skin is greenish-yellow. Fantastically sweet in taste. It ripens in late September.

We picked everything that was mature enough and there are still a few trees left that have to wait another month. We put all the apples in plastic crates and put them in a cold room. My wife prepared the apples that fell on the ground in this way. She sliced one of them thinly and left it to dry. In the winter we drink compote from them. And she grated the rest and boiled it with brown sugar in a large bowl, and when it cooled, she spread it out on plates and put it in the freezer. She made us a very good apple and cinnamon pie from it and topped it with sugar and lemon syrup

Wow! This is amazing. There is something really special about eating something you have grown from your own garden. Apples are extremely versatile. I put them in muffins, cakes and pies and obviously eat them on their own. Your apples look truly delicious! Well done! Also, welcome to the Busy Bees tribe!
