Hahaha. Reminds me of a meme I saw, that it was AI personified, standing next to a grave, and saying "Oh, my mistake, that mushroom is toxic. Can I help you with anything else?"
Saw that too. There was a story a while back about mushroom identification books which were entirely A.I.-generated. Now, these ChatGPT-style systems are often trained on the old slop already in the wild with no real knowledge of fact from fiction, and people blindly believe it. It's a real problem.
I'm glad we have mushroom ID books already from before AI was around.
It's a useful tool, but it's definitely not infallible...
I'm always reticent to munch fungus I find. Real easy to find ones that are not the best to eat. Some are obviously good like morels but many others not so much.
