↑This was how it looked outside my back door before daylight this morning. Those are mini icicles↑

This ain't the first time I've seen all this here, but it is still purty in an inconvenient way

So now, I have heat, I have electricity for now, I am not really concerned about me and/or dem cats

Yesterday, or should I say Friday as all this was approaching but no ice, no real cold yet, I was beginning to be sick with (I suspect) a "UTI" so I was miserable, trying to get stuff done while peeing on myself.
I had to change my pants and underwear twice Friday, and my room smelled strongly of pee.
But I DID get a Propane heater Friday, I thought I'd be able to use the small tanks I have for the Lantern, but no, that wouldn't work.

I don't think I slept more that a couple of hours at a time that night.
Yesterday after I recovered enough to be in the mood to get out (still no rain or ice then) I went out and found a service store that had tanks, since I wasn't exchanging, I had to PAY for the tank AND the gas inside it. That was a $74.13 expense I didn't want.

It wasn't until this morning that one of my friends on "You Know Where" suggested something I hadn't thought of. The coupling on the tank is threaded INSIDE as well as outside, I thought I was going to need an adaptor

But when I checked, it was threaded inside as well

I got it all connected, applied some Teflon tape for safety, and I was able to get it lighted.

That thing puts out a LOT of heat, so when I tried to simply move it from High to Medium, it shut off.
This has been a learning experience for sure.
This is what it should look like when connected and lit

Mr Heater
I hope I won't have to light this thing, but it's here if I need it

oh, that is so convenient — a little heater that attaches to the top of the propane tank, rather than free-standing! That takes up so much less space! 🙂
Luckily, I didn't need to use it last night, as we did not lose power, but the fat lady hasn't sung yet.
Thanks for commenting @thekittygirl
I don't suppose you see icicles too often in your neck of the woods. You folks in the southeast seem to be getting more wintry weather than we are in Idaho. But we still have February and March to contend with...
Good Morning @scribblingramma. Oddly I have photos of an ice storm here from last year, but everyone is acting like it hasn't happened since 2014
Don't remind me about Feb and Mar...I am SO ready for this cold to begone
I would think February and March in Georgia would be less likely to turn cold and snowy than in Idaho. Not true?
Generally true, but there is always the chance of the "Easter Snap" as in cold snap.
Ruined many plants and crops planted too early. We don't generally expect snow or frost, but these days who knows?
The cold must be unbearable there now. I hope you don't have to use gas again.
From what I can see, it's expensive.
The heater and lantern I have are propane gas, not gasoline (just to be clear)
It went down to 13°F this morning, it's now 29°F. The power did not fail overnight last night, so I didn't have to use either of those.
My electic bill is going to be sky high tho
Thanks @monachta
That could be a rental; I hope it improves. I heard there are severe storms.
Not sure what you mean about a rental. I BOUGHT my home (paying a mortgage) and I BOUGHT that tank of propane and I BOUGHT the heater.
Thanks for commenting thos @monachta
@jerrytsuseer When I said it's a rental, I meant the purchase of the propane, my friend, hahaha. Maybe the translation got a little lost. Cheers.
