SPRING HAS ARRIVED!!!๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผ

MY FAVORITE SEASON...

By far is spring! Lots of people enjoy autumn, and the foliage of the trees as it seems to burn in bright yellows reds and oranges. However, for me it only signifies a time for everything to go to sleep, or to die.

Spring on the other hand, for me, represents a time when everything seems to jump (or spring๐Ÿ˜) back to life! All the beauty that accompanies it, such as the flowers reappearing, the noisy and busy insects chirping back to life, and the birds with their beautiful songs each morning and evening is also magical, and powerful to me.

The picture above is that of Dutch's Breeches.... Probably my most favorite of our flowers that naturally grow in our woods where we live. They are beautiful, and are named after a pair of pants. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ I however, love them because to me, they look like hearts! They are one of the first flowers to pop back up in spring and to bloom.

These in the picture above, are Virginia Bluebells, and they arrive at about the same time as the Dutch's Breeches do. They come in two colors, this bluish purple, and pink as well. Some only grow purple some only grow pink, but some plants grow both of them!

*Pretty awesome and amazing, right?

MY FAVORITE MEDICINE PLANT THAT FLOWERS...

Below is a picture of the magical Bloodroot plant. It gets it's name from the fact that if you cut the root of this plant, it seeps a liquid that looks almost exactly like our blood!

One neat thing about them is that while the ones in the picture above are open...every evening the petals fold up and the flower closes at just about bedtime.๐Ÿ˜

A SCARY SPRING SIGN?!?

To some the following sign that Spring has arrived may be a little scary, but to us at the homestead, we welcome him!....

*The American Garter Snake

We love these friends because they help control pests such as certain bugs and spiders, and even mice!....oh, and they're nonaggresive, and not poisonous!!!! So to us, they are a welcome resident at the homestead.

QUIET TIME, AND A BUSY MIND

KIMG1444.JPG

I implore you to take some time this week just for yourself. And I don't mean in any sense such as going out and spending money to treat yourself, or doing things that will not matter in the big picture. Maybe take some time and do like I do, free yourself and evening and watch the sunset. Or to spend time in a park, or a forest, or anywhere in nature that makes you feel at peace. Take some time to escape the hectic and crazy world that we live in. And spend some time inside of your own mind, reflecting on life, thinking of your future, or remembering all the happy times you've had in the past. It is so good for us to spend a little time on self-reflection and to be quiet. The world is so noisy, and in turn so are we. Sometimes it is needed to just sit and be still.

I love you all, and wish for you each to have an amazing life.....one day at a time. Thank you all for taking the time to swing through and check in on us. We are very thankful for everyone who helps and supports us as we continue on building our future at the homestead.๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—
