What do you think could be the cause of this infection that has affected my dog so deeply?

Could it be a fungal infection, a bacterial infection, or perhaps a parasitic infestation? The latter seems unlikely given the signs that have manifested over the past few days.
Regardless, I need to address this issue quickly before the damage worsens, especially considering how rapidly it is spreading.

Dogs are very active animals, making it challenging to control their movements and keep them away from dirty environments, like dumpsters.
If I can't prevent them from exploring these places, I will face various infections to manage.
These infections are not only harmful to dogs but can also spread to humans, potentially turning us into new hosts if precautions aren't taken.
The wound on my dog doesn’t appear to be healing anytime soon without proper treatment.
It is itching and irritating him, causing him to scratch at it with his teeth or paws until it bleeds.
Rugged (the name of my dog) has been through quite a lot over the past few days, and this has significantly affected his activity level, even making it difficult for him to eat at times.

The loss of appetite is likely a result of the infection. After considering the situation, I consulted a veterinarian for help.
The veterinarian prescribed antifungal and antibacterial injections, which I suspected they would recommend.
Since starting the medication, I’ve noticed some slight improvement.
The wound on his ear has dried up, but the one on the lower part of his body is proving to be more stubborn. With time, I believe it will heal, and Rugged will return to his normal activities.
