Running a homestead means learning how to fix a lot of things when they go wrong, and trust me, a lot goes wrong on homesteads, particularly one that is powered by one power source.

🔥 When Things Got Too Hot to Handle

This Generator has been my main backup supply for a while now, and it runs essentially on the farm, powering various machines, with the water pumping machine being the most critical of them due to its significant role on the farm.

The socket area had a significant melting that left that part completely unusable unless it was properly replaced

Now, replacing the socket part wasn't the main problem, but the main issue is how long the new socket will last, considering the amount of time I intend to continue using it on the generator.

I needed a more efficient solution to the problem, one that would cost me something within the range that I can afford, thankfully. I was able to come up with one solution.

Melting in electrical science is always associated with metals that conduct heat, so in physics we put more emphasis on the thermal conductivity og the metal after checking how good its electrical conductivity is.

Well, what this story means is that some metals tend to get hotter when electricity passes through them compared to other metals, and a good example in this case is aluminum and copper.

Electrical equipment like wires and sockets made from aluminium tend to experience melting compared to those made from copper, and that's why wires made from copper are more preferred compared to those made from aluminium.

I needed a socket that was made from copper components rather than aluminum components even though I couldn't find a socket that fully fits the description in terms of size and the components of copper I was able to get one that had the necessary presence of copper which was the main thing that I needed for now the only thing to do next was to carefully carve put a part for this new socket because it was bigger than the former socket.

The good thing.Was that the solution has proved to be a good one, cheap, and one that will. Last longer than the former one and that's what I needed for the time.
