I know it looks a bit nasty π€’, but behind this, I am definitely basking in joy π at having a new member of the family. The kid looks small πΆ, but it has a lot of energy β‘ the moment it gets out.
Labor took a little longer than it should have β³, and we had to offer her some assistance to aid the birth of the kid, but right now the mother and the kid are doing well π.

Assistance during birth in goats is offered only if the kid is struggling in either direction. Sometimes, the kid gets stuck π, or the mother becomes too weak π to push. If there's a chance that the baby has partly come out, then you can give the mother a helping hand π to deliver the baby.

The process is a little bit delicate β οΈ as any mistake from our side could cause further harm like the mother suffering a tear in some parts, so you should get someone who knows about it π‘ just to keep the mother and the kid safe. But if you have prior experience, then it is something that you should not take too much time to do.

You would be thinking π€ why not give the mother an injection π that will help the birth, well, if the baby is coming out already, then there's no need for that. All you need to do is support the mother π€. But for cases where the goat is in labor but the kid is not showing forth at all, then get a veterinarian π©Ί. There are injections meant to assist the birth of the child.
But for now, the mother needs to clean up her kid while we prepare other necessary treatments that will follow from here. π§Ό
Congratulations to you on having a new goat member π
