They often say that the price of good health and it is thesame as saying that the price of growing healthy food is not cheap as well. To grow healthy food it means that we have to minimize the extreme use of chemicals on our foods.

The soil here has been a really fertile ground and there was no need to use any fertilizers to grow this okro. Alot of farmers here use chemicals unnecessarily on the farm just to boost productivity and gain.

For the past 3 weeks harvest has been continuous here and the okro where been sold at the market directly. The okro size doesn't often pass 2-3 inches in sizes but it is better to have it small sized and healthy than the larger ones that are often big and which their growth have been boosted by fertilizers.

There are different specie of okro but this is the best specie we have grown so far. It has developed a kind of leaves that doesn't allow for insect attacked compared to another specie we have grown in the past which often has much smoother leaves that insects feeds on. Those ones made it compulsory for us to often spray insecticide on the farm, but ever since this specie of okro was brought it has eliminated the use of chemicals for growing okro

As harvest is drawing to conclusion the leaves are begining to get burnt even though we are at the peak of rainfall. Very soon they won't be able to produce any more flower or okro. The okro production is often proceeded by the production of flower and once both of this stops even though it is a gradual process that will be the end of harvest.
