This is that our peanuts which we have luckily been able to plant at a right timing of weather condition. It is finally ripe and ready for harvest.
You may want to ask me how did I know that these are ready for harvest. The leaves begin to turn yellow and gets withered. When it begins to happen like this we understand that the Groundnuts are ready for harvest.
Whenever the leaves of Groundnuts are turning yellow and it's not close to its time for harvest, for such we know for sure that the Groundnuts is having a challenge like our diseased groundnut that got badly affected and withered off earlier.
One has to learn to different for when groundnuts plants are drying, withering and dying off due to some disease condition against when these plants are just withering after producing some food. Since the groundnuts have spent about 4months now it's easy to understand that these are ready for consumption
A more appropriate way to confirm this is to pull-up some of the plants and see check the nuts under but I can't do so for these since harvest is not today.
The money you pull up a root, passerbyers will notice that this is ripe for harvest and they can launch an attack to steal massively from the farm. The day of harvest is the day we pull up any strand here. Stealing of farm crops is so bad here that people can stay up night to harvest crops from other people farm or they may arrive the farm at dawn for their activities even before we get to farm around this time.
Groundnut harvest is a slow process of uprooting and plucking the nut from the plants.For this we have to workout the modalities of how we would invite some friends to assist us with harvest.
Harvest must be done promptly, any delay can cause damaged go the nuts in the ground.
Really, people would harvest where they didn't sow, wow, so sad. But all same am glad it's harvest time, I can imagine the feeling, I'd love to see the harvest here. Well done
